After 2 full month in Jakarta and not seeing my family. we can finally have lunch together again, yay.. :D

Barongsai!!!

So long not posting here!! >_<

Oh dear, I’ve been too busy with my beauty blog, I feel like I’m neglecting my 2 other blogs here.. :( But now I want to make it up! I’ll try to write in this blog more regularly.. Starting with this post right here, hehe.. ^^

A few moments ago, I heard a noise. But the noise seems so familiar.. :) At first I thought, nah.. it’s just the sound from a tape recording.. But really? A tape recording that strong? :)

Before I knew it, my mom yelled, “CIL!! It’s the Barongsai!!” With the journalist sense that I had, I immediately grabbed my camera and made the shots! Here’s the report for all of you! ^^

That kid you see there is Wei wei, my front neighbor’s son.. He’s the cutest! ^^ He’s trying to give the Barongsai the angpao, hehe.. :)

So, I told you that I'm gonna be starting back to college like 2 weeks ago, but turned out.. it's still holiday! Yay! ^^

Well, after this, I'm planning to go on for a holiday with my family, maybe to Palembang.. (South Sumatra).. More photos and excitement to come! ^^

But before we could go on for a holiday, we have to wait after my bro, Joshua go to the Youth Retreat Camp in the church, he'll be staying there for 3 days 2 night, at the church with his friends.. It's starting in Sunday afternoon..

I still think that he's my baby brother.. still little and all.. but look at him now..
He grew up so fast.. ^^

Wew! Finally back to college..

After 2 full months just sit back at home.. mostly just browsing the net, blogging..hehe.. ^^

But now I'm gonna back to college, study again.. doing some papers..(sighed) >_<

First I thought that today is the first day of college, but turns out that it's going to start tomorrow.. so I'm free to blog today, yay! ^^

I also have a plan, this end of year, I'm gonna go to Bandung with a whole new body.. and I'm gonna buy all those dress that I didn't fit in last holiday.. That's a strong will, there.. ^^

My Mid-Year Resolution

I’ve been thinking, you know, about things and everything that has happened lately, and I’ve made up my mind. I have to lose weight.

I’ve been reading Mireille Guilano’s book, “French Women Don’t Get Fat” for quite awhile (I bought the book on April this year) and it’s got me thinking on and on. Why am I overweight? Hmmm.. A big question,there.
I’ve always think that it’s on my genes, you know.. My whole family is big and tall, so I thought, well..you can’t deny the genetic issue,right? But, after I read the book, I realized, well, it’s not wholly because of my genes, it’s because HOW I eat and live.
You see, on chapter 3, “Short Time Recasting: The First Three Months”, I have to round up my usual suspects, and after I wrote it down on my notebook, here they are:

1. chocolate and ice cream? NO!
Actually, I do love chocolate and ice cream, I really-really-really love them. But, I don’t over-eat them, because, you can see, I only eat chocolate, like.. once a week, maybe?? Or for ice cream, twice a month. Nothing more. It’s funny because in the Siregar family, we are all the big fan of chocolate and ice cream. It runs in the family, I have to admit. But eating them everyday as snack or must have dessert? Absolutely not! We love them, but never over eating them. End of story. (So I guess it’s not the culprit, huh?)
2. Too much eating portion? YES!
Oh dear, it’s so embarassing for me to admit this, but I always have a big portion when I eat the main course. For example: my portion of rice and meat are indeed, too much than I needed. >_<>

3. Coconut Milk Gravy? YES! I have to admit, my family is a big fan of Padangnese food, so when we go to Padangnese restaurant, it’s all about the coconut milk, right? So, I think I have to count that as the suspect and reduce them. >_< (but I love the Padangnese food.. T_T) 4. Too much eating at dinner time? YES! YES! YES! You know, the meaning of a family time in my family is dinner . So, whenever we have the time, we will go out and eat dinner. That’s the time we can laugh, share thoughts, and really enjoying ourselves as a family. But, I guess it has a downside as well. Because we were eating and talking, we don’t realize that we’re over eating, and we don’t really enjoying the food ( I know, we love to talk and laugh, hehe..). Well, I guess we have to change that, don’t we?? 5. Nut, chips, cookies? NO!

I'm not that type of person who eat that too much.. Absolutely not..

6. Bread/Pastry? YES/NO? NO..

I think that bread is not the source of my problem, so NO..

7. Lack of Exercise? YES!

I hate to admit it, but I do rarely exercise.. >_<>

8. Not enough water? YES!

I don't drink water as much as my mother.. I guess I have to change that..

9. Junkfood,pizza, soda/softdrink, coffee, alcohol? NO! NO! NO!

I don't like soda (I just don't like it, it's too sweet!), we eat pizza and junkfood only for once every month (it's expensive here in Indonesia!!), and I don't drink coffee (too bitter!) or alcohol..

10. Stress? YEEESSS!!

When I'm upset, I eat. That's my recipe against all those stress.. T_T

Not a snack, but I will eat everything that's on the table.. I know.. it's bad..

11. Gene/DNA?

I don't think so.. NO..

12. Habit? YES!

Well, I have to confess, I have this habit to overeat only when it comes to protein and carbs from the meat and rice, and lack of veggies.. Change.. Change!

And for the last one is..

13. Fried Food! YES! The Major Culprit!

This is it, people.. My major weakness.. I have this tendention to fall over to fried food.. not the junk food/fast food, but the one like: fried toufu, fried tempe, fried banana.. You know the stuff.. But now I'm trying to reduce them, I'm doing my best to avoid them, or at least reduce the quantity.. ^^ For my favourite fried chicken, I'm turning into roasted chicken instead. It's healthier and less fat. Everything has to be changed in order to make a difference, right?

I shall try my best!

This is the Heritage Factory Outlet in Riau Street, really big and beautiful, it's originally a house of a Dutch director from the late 1800, it's so old and historic but it's been renovated so it's really beautiful now.. ^^

See that pancakes and ice cream? It's so great, but unfortunately I have to gave the ice cream to my mom and dad.. too bad.. Flu is so not expected when you're on holiday! >_<

My mom and dad were eating 4 scoops of ice cream, 2 of them are mine and Joshua's, coz we can't eat ice cream yet, still in flu.. We eat the pancakes, instead.

The Rasa Bakery and Cafe.. We just love to go and to eat there, because it's so romantic and nostalgic, the architecture is like the signature of Holland, right?? ^^

As happy and chubby as always.. This is the inside of the Rasa Bakery and Cafe, so warm and comfortable.. You know, we came there at about 8 am, and it's already half full! It's crowded even from the morning.. And the food was so delicious.. ^^

Last but not least, this bridge is the symbol of Bandung.. When you see this, it means you're entering Bandung, just like the Siger Tower of Lampung.. So beautiful.. ^^

Baru aja.. Indonesia merasakan tentram dan damai.. eh.. sekarang kena lagi bomnya.. T_T Pagi tadi begitu denger berita di TV, langsung kaget and gak percaya, "kok bisa kena lagi??" Anyway.. gw sangat menyesalkan terjadinya pengeboman (lagi-lagi) di Indonesia ini.. baruuu aja.. kita ngerasain suasana yang damai, eh.. ada bom lagi.. hhh..

Gw jadi mikir, apa sih maksudnya dengan adanya pengeboman itu?? Kita itu kan harusnya bersatu untuk Indonesia yang lebih baik, kok malah dibom?? Kalo ngelihat video2 ini, hati gw jadi miris.. Gw berharap, semoga pelakunya bisa cepet ketangkep and diadili.

Whew! I think it seems forever since I wrote my last post, bgut here I am.. Back on the blogging world.. ^^ I can really feel that in this blogging thing, you really need a motivation to continue to keep on writing. This is it, people. The moment we are waiting for. This world has waited for a change, and finally today, it will begun to rise.

I know, I'm not American. I do,however, felt the same feeling that all the Americans feell inside their heart. It's the feeling to change the future. For the better and safer world to live in.

I have always have this fear, because of war, conflict, battle between humans, and the rage of mother earth. Everytime I see it, it makes me trembled.

BUT, what I see now is HOPE. And that's what keeps me going everyday. Not to live by fear, but because of love and hope. That's what I believe in.

Trip to Palembang (Part 2-finished)

Back with more story and photos from our trip. At noon, we were hungry and ask ourselves, "where to?" Well, my mom suggest Solaria, so off we go then. Turns out my bro was extremely hungry, so he ordered for A Big Plate Spagheti and Rice with Ayam Goreng Mentega (Fried Chicken with Butter and Soysauce). We were so amzed by his stomach. Really-really.

Trip to Palembang (Part 1)

Well, long time with no post, at all, hehehe..

But it's been busy lately, so I have no time to reach out for my computer, really!

So, actually it's the recap from me and my family trip to Palembang (South Sumatra), we have fun wondering around the "Pempek City", and taking pictures in every corner of the city. Well, not exactly every corner, hahaha.. We've been taking so many pictures, so that people would stare at us like we are a tourist from another planet, haha!

It's the road in Palembang, and it was raining, so the picture got a lil dark.

My mom, dad and my bro, the people are staring and smiling to us (literally), yeah, well.. What can I say? We like to take pic. BTW, It's in J.Co in Palembang Indah Mall, actually.

I like to come to J.Co and have their Hot Chocolate, it's my fave! Their doughnut are amazing, too. I'm so in love with the Glazzy's. But sometimes, if the queue is too... long, I'll just wait and told my bro to stand in the line for me. Isn't that a bro for, right? =)

Here we are at the Ampera Bridge! It's a beautiful site to see. This is the symbol/icon of Palembang, and it's a must to go there if you go to Palembang, people say.

We were actually standing on the Ampera Bridge, my dad can't go out from the car, because the machine is still on. But, as long as he's still on the frame, it will do.

Umm.. Hmm.. In Palembang Indah Mall, we stopped at Don Cafe who served Italian food, and it's so... delicious! I first thought, why would you eat Italian Food in Sumatra? Hello... Basically, it was my mom's idea, but turns out it was worth to visit. Below is the Cappucino that my mom ordered.

I had the blueberry pancake with vanilla ice cream, the pancake is sweet and tasty! Mmm..!

I gotta tell you, I love love love hot chocolate, and this one is great. It's rather different than the J.Co's but, It tastes amazing, too.

Our family trip..

So, last sunday my family and I went for a small adventure. Nothing fancy, really, just the 4 of us and our car. We're ready to hit the road. Here are some pictures that I took in our trip.

Signal Tower.. It's a little dark, because it's a cloudy morning. After I shot this pic, there was a heavy rain, but it's stopped after just awhile, and you know what? It's cold...

It's a big house on the hill.. Really creepy...

It's the housing estate in Kemiling, a highland in Bandarlampung, I took this pic from the mainroad, so it's a lil bit far, isn't it?

Let me tell you, there ain't nothing like a family trip. Noises everywhere, lots of food (I mean snack), and of course, pictures!

We went to Pringsewu, which is not that far from Bandarlampung, but I forgot to take any pictures, because what? It's raining... We only buy Tahu Sumedang, and went for sightseeing, after that we hurried back to Bandarlampung. What a trip. =)

Anyway.. I'll be sure to post more about my family getaway, so..

In case If you don't know what are those images above mean, let me tell you. Yes, my current craving right now is " HOT COCOA MILK!!" I don't remember why I started drinking those, maybe it's the taste. I don't really like coffee or coke, so I turn to milk and choc. I have been searching for the best hot cocoa milk in the store right now, but I think my top rank is still the one I drank from J.Co. Speaking of which, I want to go there now!!! Violin..My Biggest Dream

You know the strange feeling when you woke up in the morning and suddenly there's something that you really-really-really want to do? I had that kind of odd feeling a couple days ago.

I tell you what, last couple days,I suddenly had this urge to learn how to play violin (I think I should mention last week I watched La Cordo Doro Primo Passo,it's an anime about music, great story)

And so, I decided I want to learn violin.

But.. Then again, I thought: How am I gonna do that? Really... Well, I don't know how this dream will end, but I will keep on writing about this, oh violin....

People say there’s always a first time for everything. Well, for me, it’s my first time to the blogging world. You may say, ‘what?? You just start to blog, now? In this day and age?’
Well, there’s no word as too late to start new things, right? So, here I am with this new blog “IdreamOf-Paris”. This blog title might sound too obvious, obviously. But, I have to say, I DO dreaming about Paris. I’m just like any other girl in this earth, who’s dreaming about landing her feet on the most romantic city on earth, “Paris”. Who wouldn’t?

Anyway, this blog’s intended to be a place for my inspirations; things that I like, such as fashion, art, books, food, basically anything that amuses me. So please do forgive me if I get anything out of hand, or mistakes, you know why.. hahaha..
(You know, this introductory-thingy is driving me crazy, it’s like your first day at school, really-really!)

Next, about myself, I’m an Indonesian girl, just turned 19, and I love to write, even though somethimes, my hands can’t really translates what’s really in my head, you know the deal. They say it’s the writer’s block/stuck, which has been really often occurred to me. BUT, never mind.. I’ll just keep on trying.. Pray for me, please!!
And for this first post, let me introduce you with my trusty worthy friend who just recently join my ‘blogging-army-tool’, please meet.. “my-new-digital-camera-Sony-W120!” WooHoo..!!!

I was just starting to learn how to use it, so.. if you find any blur, out of focus, or even strange-angle-shot images, (I wonder, Why was that? Hmm.. Hahaha...) You know me! You know, after this ‘quite’ long intro, I can’t believe I forgot to mention my name, silly me..
My name’s Cecile, most of my friend at college call my by that name. They say “Priscilla” is hard to say, and anyway, it’s waaay too long. (What???)

SO, they turn my name into Cecile, it’s easier and more simplified, they always said. More about me, I’m Indonesian-Philippines-Chinese-girl, so if you ask me, can you imagine growing up with no one else looking like you, trust me, I can feel you. When I was younger, I tend to feel that way, always did. But, not anymore! I’m a grown-up girl now, so I can figure out that is a blessing for me. After all, we are all unique, right? Why we would want to look or appear like someone else, then? A valuable lesson for me, if I may recall.

Well then, I think that’s enough for this first post, not too bad for an intro, right? Can’t wait to get to start my next post, =) I guess I’ll just try to write according to my mood, with a nice music to accompany me, of course.
